Arcanist is a Mage Advanced Class in Lost Ark. The Arcanist class is a highly mobile spellcaster that lacks the range of other Mage classes but makes up for it in damage potential. They have a very complex playstyle that relies heavily on stacking effects and detonating them with finishing skills, dealing massive amounts of damage if played correctly but requiring a lot of micromanagement. Arcanists use a special Magick Deck of cards in combat with varying effects and their damage scales off of the Intelligence stat.
Infusing special cards with her Magick, The Arcanist leverages her deck to inflict the most damage to her enemies. From slicing up enemies to summoning powerful attacks, she’s always prepared. But sometimes, she prefers to leave things to fate with her specialty skill “Card Deck”. As an advanced class under the Mage, the Arcanist is great at supporting the team with her single and multi-target skills.

- The Arcanist is an evolution of the Mage Class.
- Arcanists' attack damage scales with the Intelligence Stat.
- The Arcanist's playstyle involves a high-risk, high-reward dance as she is one of the squishiest classes in Lost Ark. The Arcanist lacks the range of the other Mage classes and primarily fights in close or melee range, putting her in harm's way most of the time. However, she has a very high damage potential if her mechanics are played correctly.
- The Arcanist's skillset is comprised of 3 types of cards, corresponding to the color of her skills:
- Yellow Cards or [Normal Skills] typically deal low to moderate damage but many have crowd control or self buff effects attached to them.
- Blue Cards or [Stacking Skills] deal damage and mark opponents hit with Stacks up to four times. These stacks are the key to maximizing the Arcanist's damage.
- Red Cards or [Ruin Skills] are cards that deal moderate damage on their own. However, they also detonate all Stacks on opponents which have been genrated by the Arcanist's blue card skills. Each stack consumed increases the damage dealt by the Ruin explosion, making Stack application very important for improving your damage potential.
- The Arcanist's Identity Skill is a special deck of Tarot Cards which is comprised of 12 cards, each providing different effects ranging from damage boosts, improved Stacking ability to increased movement speed to instant skill refreshes. Once her Arcane meter is charged through combat, a card is drawn at random from the deck of twelve. The Arcanist can hold two Tarot Cards at any one time and they can be used at any time as long as she is not constrained by any crowd control effects. Note that a 13th card can be added to the mix with a Class Engraving. See the Tarot Card section below for details on each card's effects.
- The Arcanist is one of the most complex and difficult classes to master in Lost Ark due to her fragility and fundamental requirement of fighting in melee/close range as well as her variable combat rotation due to the random factor of drawing Tarot Cards. However, skillful use of her mechanics can yield some of the highest damage potentials among all the classes. Compared to the other Mage classes, she deals very consistent damage and has the most mobility and great crowd control capabilities.

Lost Ark Arcanist Identity Skill Tarot Card Effects
The following is a list of all the possible Tarot Cards that can be drawn once the Arcanist's Arcane Meter is filled:
Three-Headed Snake Card
Basic Attack changes into 3 directions for 16s. On hit, earn 1 stack. Damage to foes +100%. Damage to Challenge or lower monsters +400%.
Mayhem
For 30s, Atk. Speed +3% for 4s every time skills are used, up to 15%.
Twisted Fate Card
For 4s, your skill Damage either stays the same or increases by 40%.
Corrosion
For 30s ,gain a 30% chance of +10% Damage to the foe for 5s.
Ghost Card
Ignore collision with monsters. Move Speed +20% and Damage from foes -50% for 3 hits for 16s.
Cull Card
For 4s, Crit Rate for all skill attacks 100% and Crit Damage +50% when they hit 1 foe.
Balance Card
For 30s, your Stacking skills are enhanced and grant you 1 more stack with each hit.
Judgment Card
For 4s, Ruin skills always trigger the 4 stack effect, regardless of the actual number of stacks cast upon foes.
Moon Card
Cooldown -10% and MP Recovery Speed increase +20% for 30s.
Star Card
Recovers 100% MP. Remaining skills Cooldown -15% except for Awakening, Movement, and Stand Up skills.
Royal Card
Fills empty card slots. You can obtain up to 2 cards.
Wheel of Fortune
The Cooldown of the next skill decreases by 100%.
Emperor
Inflict Damage to foes within a 14 meter radius.

Lost Ark Arcanist Skills
Call of Destiny
Throw a card at the target location to inflict two instances of damage with a short pause in between, the second one launching foes into the air.
Quadra Accelerate
Throw cards toward the target location 4 times with each card inflicting minor damage. Accumulates Stacks on targets hit.
Scratch Dealer
Quickly move towards a target location and attack to deal minor damage. Use the skill again to strike downward and deal another instance of damage. Accumulates Stacks on targets hit.
Spiral Edge
Leap towards the target location while throwing a card, inflicting high damage. Accumulates Stacks on targets hit.
Dancing of Spineflower
Throw a flurry of cards while dashing over a long distance, dealing 6 instances of minor damage and then finishing with a final throw that deals heavy damage. Using the skill again will instantly return you to your original location. Accumulates Stacks on targets hit.
Celestial Rain
Call down a rain of cards at the target location to deal high damage. Deals bonus damage to airborne foes and slams them into the ground. Detonates accumulated Stacks on targets.
Four of a Kind
Quickly throw a card at the target location to deal moderate damage. Detonates accumulated Stacks on targets.
Unlimited Shuffle
Throw a stack of cards at the target location, inflicting moderate damage over 6 hits. Enemies are then launched into the air and dealt minor damage before being slammed into the ground for a heavy finisher.
Checkmate
Quickly throw cards toward the target location, dealing minor damage with each hit. This skill has a very high damage ceiling. Accumulates Stacks on targets hit.
Return
Throw a card toward the target location to deal moderate damage and Counterattack. Use the skill again for another instance of Damage and slam foes onto the ground.
Serendipity
Fan out the card at the target location, inflicting light damage, then fan the card again to inflict moderate damage and knock foes away. Detonates accumulated Stacks on targets.
Stream of Edge
Open two portal gates at the target location which attacks all enemies caught between them over 15 hits for several seconds. Accumulates Stacks on targets hit.
Mysterious Stampede
Quickly move to your left and deal moderate damage and then return, dealing another instance of damage.
Dark Resurrection
Throw cards at the target location to summon a Demon that attacks foes twice for light damage, finishing off with a very heavy strike and inflicting Fear on targets hit for a short duration.
Infinity Shower
Throw cards at the target location to deal moderate damage. Use as a combo in the air to throw more cards to deal two more instances of damage. Accumulates Stacks on targets hit.
Evoke
Cast a magick circle at a target location, lasting for a moderate duration. Use the skill again to inflict very heavy damage damage to foes in the area.
Secret Garden
Instantly inflict light damage to nearby foes. Detonates accumulated Stacks on targets. Foes with 4 stacks are slammed into the ground.
Arcanist Awakening Skills
Prismatic Mirror
Summon a stack of enormous cards at the target location to inflict moderate damage, then throw smaller cards that deal very heavy damage, accumulating over time. The giant cards flock together and explode, dealing another instance of damage and launching foes into the air. You are granted 2 Specialty Cards upon explosion.
Deathbound
Summon the Card of Death, inflicting heavy damage and knocking foes away. Damage to foes increases significantly according to the number of stacks.
Lost Ark Arcanist Engravings
Order of the Emperor
- Lv. 1: Normal Skills Deck Meter gain +50%. Damage +10% and an Emperor Card is added to the deck. The Emperor Card deals great Damage in the surrounding Area when used.
- Lv. 2: Normal Skills Deck Meter gain +50%. Damage +20% and an Emperor Card is added to the deck.
- Lv. 3: Normal Skills Deck Meter gain +50%. Damage +30% and an Emperor Card is added to the deck.
Empress's Grace
- Lv. 1: 4-stack Ruin Damage +20%. When Ruin hits, recover 30% of consumed MP.
- Lv. 2: 4-stack Ruin Damage +25%. When Ruin hits, recover 30% of consumed MP.
- Lv. 3: 4-stack Ruin Damage +30%. When Ruin hits, recover 30% of consumed MP.
