Checkmate is one of the Skills in Lost Ark exclusive to the Arcanist class. Skills are abilities used in combat to deal damage or apply buff, debuff and crowd control effects to enemies and allies. Each Class has their own sets of Skills that can be leveled up and modified with the Tripod System to adjust their effects or add new ones.

Vital Point Hit
Rank 1: Crit Rate +15.0%.
Rank 2: Crit Rate +21.0%.
Rank 3: Crit Rate +27.0%.
Rank 4: Crit Rate +33.0%.
Rank 5: Crit Rate +40.0%.
Card Draw
Rank 1 (Max): Checkmate's max number of Stacking Stacks goes from 3 to 4.

Concentrated Darkness
Rank 1: Element is now [Dark]. For every crit, Checkmate's Damage +10.0% up to 100.0%.
Rank 2: Element is now [Dark]. For every crit, Checkmate's Damage +11.0% up to 110.0%.
Rank 3: Element is now [Dark]. For every crit, Checkmate's Damage +12.0% up to 120.0%.
Rank 4: Element is now [Dark]. For every crit, Checkmate's Damage +14.0% up to 140.0%.
Rank 5: Element is now [Dark]. For every crit, Checkmate's Damage +16.0% up to 160.0%.
Weak Point Detection
Rank 1: Increases Stagger Level to [Mid]. Damage to foes with Push Immunity +50.0%.
Rank 2: Increases Stagger Level to [Mid]. Damage to foes with Push Immunity +57.5%.
Rank 3: Increases Stagger Level to [Mid]. Damage to foes with Push Immunity +65.0%.

Can be unlocked after upgrading Checkmate to Skill Lv. 10:
Wave of Cards
Rank 1 (Max): Throws cards in 4 diretions in a cone-shaped area.
Deadline
Rank 1: After holding 0.5s or longer, send a piercing card, inflicting +50.0% Base Damage and knocking down the foe.
Rank 2: After holding 0.5s or longer, send a piercing card, inflicting +57.5% Base Damage and knocking down the foe.
Rank 3: After holding 0.5s or longer, send a piercing card, inflicting +65.0% Base Damage and knocking down the foe.
Rank 4: After holding 0.5s or longer, send a piercing card, inflicting +72.5% Base Damage and knocking down the foe.
Rank 5: After holding 0.5s or longer, send a piercing card, inflicting +80.0% Base Damage and knocking down the foe.
