Islands in Lost Ark are Ocean Locations that can only be reached by Sailing. The ocean is filled with Islands and it's adviced to consider safe paths to reach them in order to avoid unwanted battles in the sea. Some special rewards, such a new Ships, can be obtained by completing Quests in some specific Islands. Every Island has something interesting to offer. Merchants and NPCs can be found in Islands too. One of the main objectives to visit a new island is to obtain the Heart of that Island.
Sailing in Lost Ark
Lost Ark includes Sailing mechanics that are vital for the completion of the game, and for the full exploration of the map. By Sailing you will be able to travel through the ocean and reach new Locations such as Dungeons and Islands, where you can unlock new Events that are only reachable by the use of a Ship. Sailing is not only used to reach new lands, the ocean itself is also explorable and filled with Enemies and Events.
Lost Ark: Private Island
Once you completed every Main Quest in Bern you will be given a Guide Quest in front of the Castle that will unlock your private Island and a House Icon will appear at the botton of your screen with a whole User Interface related to your Island. The first time you enter in your private Island you will introduced into a tutorial that will teach a lot of new features, like Housing, Expeditions, Research, Crafting and more.
Lost Ark - Heart of the Island
By completing certain activities related to the Island you are visitng, you will be able to collect the Island Hearts. You can then head to Lonely Island Opher and feed the Hearts to the Statue. After a short cinematic, you will be given Heart Points, which you can then use as currency to claim your rewards to Grandfather Opper, who's standing next to the Statue. The required activities to obtain Island Hearts are different on each island, if you are simply willing to quickly farm it, make sure you know what activities are required to do so.
The Lonely Island Opher is not hard to find because it is found soon as part of the main Quests, and you will be returning to this island many times. The rewards given by Grandfather Opper as of high quality.
