The Paladin Raid Build is an end-game Lost Ark Paladin Build Guide. Raid Builds are geared towards dealing massive damage to a single target and supporting party members. This Lost Ark Paladin Raid Build Guide features the the playstyles offered by different engravings, what accessory stats to look out for, and a list of recommended skills to take.

The Paladin, referred to as Holy Knights in other translations of the game, plays a support-oriented role in raids. They have access to and are capable of providing the party with good healing, shielding, damage reduction, and party-wide damage buffs. Despite largely being a support class, don't underestimate the damage they can dish out.

There have been many discussions on Paladins vs Bard as supports, and the consensus is generally: Paladins provide stronger damage buffs and damage reduction, while Bards provide stronger healing and shielding, as well as mana regeneration buffs.

 

Pick your Paladin Engravings & Stats

Paladins are unique in that their playstyles don't heavily differ based on which class engraving is taken:

 

Blessed Aura

As a support, Blessed Aura is a must to use. This is the support-oriented class engraving and it buffs the Paladin's Holy Aura from only providing the party with an attack buff, to also providing them with damage reduction and health regeneration.

As with many other builds, Specialty is a must. For Paladins, this stat increases the party damage buff provided by the Holy Aura, as well as increases how quickly the identity gauge fills up. Swiftness is another key stat for cooldown reduction so that buffs can be spammed more often on party members.

Judgment

Judgement is the damage-oriented class engraving. It increases the damage dealt by Punishment Skills, i.e. blue-colored skills, increases the duration of Sacred Executioner, and more notably, increases the identity gauge gain when hitting Punishment Skills. As support Paladins still use blue skills in their builds, it is definitely viable, albeit expensive, to have at least a level 1 Judgement alongside Blessed Aura to have quicker identity gauge generation.

Like mentioned earlier, support Paladins should aim to stack Specialty and Swiftness on their accessories.

Awakening

Reduces the cooldown of your awakening skills, allowing Alithanes's Judgement to be used more often and have more uses, giving the Paladin more access to it's best life-saving skill.

Expert

Increases the efficiency of shields and healing provided by the player, improving their ability to keep their party alive.

Heavy Armor Equipment

Increases the player's defenses. Pretty straightforward, the longer the player can stay alive, the longer they can buff and  keep their party alive.

Spirit Absorption

Increases attack and movement speed. This engraving is mainly taken for the attack speed increase, which quickens the casting times of the Paladin's skills, allowing them to apply buffs and shields onto party members quicker.

Key Skills for a Raid Paladin Build in Lost Ark

Heavenly Blessings is one of the most useful skills a Paladin can have. At it's base, it provides the party with damage reduction. Levelling up this skill and adding tripods adds more buffs to this skill. Faith increases the identity gauge gain when hitting Heavenly Blessings on the boss, allowing the player to use Holy Aura more often. Valor adds an attack damage buff to the skill, a higher DPS stim than what Weightlessness might provide. Both final tripods are viable to use. Absolute Blessing adds a mana regeneration buff to the skill, a must for mana-hungry classes. Heavenly Requiem increases the radius of the skill, allowing the player to more consistently hit multiple party members in situation where players have poor positioning or are unable to group up consistently. It should be noted that the damage buff from Heavenly Blessings do not stack with Wrath of God, so the two skills should be timed so as not to overlap.

 

Charge

Charge is the Paladin's main movement skill. Movement skills are important in raid settings to avoid taking damage and reposition quickly. Since players will not be using this skill to deal damage to the boss, only one tripod is required for this skill. Excellent Mobility increases the distance travelled using this skill, allowing the player to reposition themselves quicker. If players have extra skill points, they can take Shining Protection as an extra precaution when trying to avoid attacks.

 

Holy Protection

Holy Protection is one of the Paladin's sources of shielding and only source of cleanse at level 7. This skill is worth having all three tripods for. The first tripod, Quick Pace, provides a party-wide movement speed buff to all party members shielded by the skill, as opposed to Swift Fingers which only affects the Paladin. The choice between two of the second tripods depend on the raid encounter. If crowd control is an issue and the group requires cleanse, take Purify. Otherwise if it is not required, players can take Robust Protection instead for the stronger shield. Finally, Vow of Light is taken as an additional heal after the shield runs out.

 

Holy Sword

Holy Sword deals decent damage, has good stagger value, and is capable of dealing with counter mechanics. As this build is more support-oriented, players don't have to build this skill all the way to the third tripod. Positioning is taken to make the skill more accessible, especially to make countering attacks easier. Outburst of Light makes it so that the second part of the attack goes through even when the first hit misses. Because the second hit has a longer range than the first hit, this tripod allows the player to counter boss attacks from afar. If the player has extra skill points, they can invest in Release Light for some cooldown reduction.

 

Light Shock

Light Shock is the Paladin's main means of debuffing the boss. Because this skill isn't taken for damage, and the final tripods are both damage boosters, they are not taken in this build. The first tripod, Swift Fingers, reduces the casting time of the skill. The second tripod, Light's Vestige is the defining feature of this skill. It increases the damage taken by the boss from all party members after getting hit by this skill. Due to Light Shock's low cooldown, with enough swiftness, this debuff can be permanently applied to the boss.

 

Wrath of God

Wrath of God is another party-wide attack damage buff Paladins have access to. All three tripods are required for this skill. Thunderstroke is taken to increase the effect range of the skill, allowing players to hit more party members consistently. Faith is taken next to increase identity gauge gain. The final tripod, Express Fury, is the key to this skill and adds an attack buff to the skill. It should be noted that the damage buff from Wrath of God do not stack with Heavenly Blessings, so the two skills should be timed so as not to overlap.

 

Godsent Law

Godsent Law is the Paladin's strongest source of damage reduction and requires all three tripods to do this. The first tripod, Shield, provides shields to party members inside the area conjured by the skill. Wide Angle Attack increases the effective range of the skill, making it easier to hit party members. Finally, like many other Paladin skills before, the bulk of the skill is found in the last tripod. Grace provides party members in it's AOE with a whopping 70% damage reduction, though it only lasts for a second. A good Paladin will time this skill so that it mitigates some of the bosses hardest hitting skills.

 

Other Skills for your Paladin Endgame Build

Holy Area

Holy Area provides the group with a relatively consistent source of damage reduction. When paired with Godsent Law, players can reach up to 95% damage reduction. Only two tripods are required for this skill to do its job. Quick Preparation is taken to be able to spam this skill more often. The damage mitigation feature of this skill comes from the second tripod, Grace. If players have extra skill points remaining, they may opt to invest in Endless Grace, increasing the effect radius of the skill, as well as the identity gauge generation.

 

Executor's Sword is another source of stagger and counter for Paladins. In addition, when spec'd, it can deal part break, making this a good final choice if your party is struggling with raid mechanics. Since this skill is mainly taken for raid mechanics, only two tripods are really required. Excellent Mobility turns this skill into a movement skill, and Weak Point Strike gives the skill its part breaking properties. If players have extra skill points, they may invest in Executioner's Strike to increase the damage of the skill.

 

Wind Blade provides Paladins with another source of enemy debuffs and can be taken if the player is having trouble upkeeping the debuff with just Light Shock. As this skill is not taken for it's damage, the final tripod will be left out of this build. Swift Fingers shortens the casting time of the skill, and Light's Vestige provides the enemy debuff that makes this skill good for support play.

 

One of two Awakening Skills that Paladins can choose from. Alithanes's Judgment is the defensive awakening skill and is what all support-oriented Paladins should be using. It does damage and provides a strong shield to all party members, no matter how far away they are from the player, for a significant amount of time. It's main use is as an emergency button - to protect party members from heavy boss attacks that they are not prepared for. With the engraving Awakening, players can be more use the skill more liberally.

 

One of two Awakening Skills that Paladins can choose from. Alithanes's Light is the offensive choice out of the two and is typically only used when running a damage-oriented Paladin as it mostly just deals massive amounts of damage.
