The Sorceress Raid Build is an end-game Lost Ark Sorceress Build Guide. Raid Builds are geared towards dealing massive damage to a single target and supporting party members. This Lost Ark Sorceress Raid Build Guide features the the playstyles offered by different engravings, what accessory stats to look for, and a list of recommended skills to take.
The Sorceress plays a DPS-oriented role in raids. They deal massive damage with their array of elemental skills with the caveat that they lack mobility outside of their identity skills and are squishy. Depending on the class engraving you choose to build, Sorceresses can spec into dealing heavy burst damage while relying on their identity gauge or having good consistent sustained damage without requiring their identity gauge.
Pick your Sorceress Engravings & Stats
Your playstyle can differ based on which class engravings you take:
Igniter
Igniter turns the Sorceress into a nuke, dealing large amounts of burst damage, and has a higher damage potential than their counterpart. This playstyle revolves around the class' identity gauge, particularly around the identity skill Arcane Rupture. Running Igniter further increases the damage buff the Sorceress gains while in the Magick Amplification state, as well as halves the cooldown of all skills casted, making it optimal to cast spells only while the skill is active. As her playstyle heavily relies on the identity gauge, Sorceresses running this class engraving will find it more crucial to practice proper positioning as they cannot freely use their identity skill Blink, and will need to have a good understanding of their skills to time them well during their burst window.
As with all DPS classes, Igniter Sorceresses should look to run Crit to maximize damage output. Specialty is also key with this engraving to boost identity gauge gain to get your burst window up as often as possible.
Reflux
Reflux turns the Sorceress into a sustained damage dealer that boasts great fluid combos and less downtime than their counterpart. This playstyle does not rely on the class' identity gauge as running Reflux removes the offensive identity skill Arcane Rupture in exchange for general damage buffs to all offensive skills and lower cooldown times. Players may find this playstyle easier to get into as they have free use of Blink and do not have to [completely] worry about timing and positioning when casting their skills.
As with all DPS classes, Igniter Sorceresses should look to run Crit to maximize damage output, as well as to make good use of the many crit damage tripods you may find on many hard hitting Sorceress skills. As this playstyle does not rely on your identity gauge, Swiftness is taken instead of Specialty for lower cooldowns, quicker casting times, and faster movement.
Besides class engravings, players should also consider gearing and levelling up these engravings:
Grudge
An engraving that you'll see most, if not all DPS classes using. Provides one of the highest damage boosts of all engravings at the cost of increased damage taken. Other options are available (e.g. Cursed Doll). Only take this engraving if you can afford to take it to level 3.
Master of Strikes
Increases the damage output of skills not listed as either 'Front' or 'Back' attack. Works well with Sorceresses as almost all their skills have neither effect.
All-Out Attack
Many of the class' hardest hitting skills are casting and holding skills, so this engraving is key when running them.
Precision Dagger
Greatly increases the crit rate of the player at level 3. The crit damage down can be offset by many of the Sorceress' tripods.
Adrenaline
Increases crit rate at max stacks. Though harder to maintain than Precision Dagger, it does not have any drawbacks and can be taken in place of or alongside it depending on how much crit you've build on your accessories.
Increased Max MP
While not an optimal engraving to be running, if you find yourself struggling with mana generation on the Sorceress, this engraving can help you use skills more often.
Sorceress Build Skills
These are the recommended skills to take when running a Sorceress in raids. Mouse-over the skill names to see what they do.
Key Skills for a Raid Sorceress Build in Lost Ark
Blaze is taken as a boss debuff to increase the damage outuput of the Sorceress and her party members for a time. Since it's mostly taken for the debuff, only two tripods are required, however, more tripods mean more damage dealt by the skill. The first tripod, Damage Amplification, allows Blaze to debuff the boss, making them take increased damage from all party members. Flame Expansion allows the skill to leave a fiery AoE field after the skill's cast. Not only does this AoE deal increased damage, but it also increases the number of hits this skill does, allowing the debuff to be applied for a longer period of time. Finally, Weak Point Detection adds a massive damage buff to the skill against push-immune enemies, i.e. raid bosses. Players should generally use Blaze as a rotation starter to maximize the damage of their hardest hitting skills.
Frost's Call is a good damaging skill that can be casted from range and has decent identity gauge generation if you need it. The more tripods you invest in, the more damage this skill does. If running Igniter, you'll want to slot in Enlightenment as your first tripod for the identity gauge gain, otherwise, Mind Enhancement lowers the mana cost of the skill. Unstable Rule removes the holding time of the skill, allowing it to be cast quicker, and slightly increases the skill's damage output. The choice between the final tripod depends on your stats. If you've built a lot of crit on your accessories and engravings, Final Strike provides the highest damage boost of the two, the caveat of course being that the skill has to crit. If you don't feel like you can consistently crit with this skill, Enhanced Strike is still a very good damage boost for this skill.
Punishing Strike deals excellent damage after a long casting time. All three tripods should be invested in for maximum damage. Mind Enhancement reduces the huge mana cost of the skill. The choice for the the next tripod depends on what class engraving and playstyle you're running. Electric Discharge has the highest damage potential of the two with a higher damage boost and a DoT after the skill ends. If running Igniter, Electric Discharge is the way to go. If you're running Reflux however, you get to choose between that and Unavoidable Fate. Unavoidable Fate removes the long casting time and turns the skill into an instant-cast skill in exchange for a lower damage boost, allowing for a more quick-paced playstyle. Finally, Magick Amplification only works with Igniter as it boosts damage significantly when the identity skill Arcane Rupture is active. Final Strike massively increases the skill's crit damage and should be taken when running Reflux.
Rime Arrow is a flashy damage skill that can be casted from range. If spec'd, it can also generate a decent amount of identity gauge. The more tripods invested in this skill, the more damage it does. Enlightenment increases the identity gauge gain from this skill and should only be taken if running Igniter. Otherwise, Quick Preparation allows this skill to be used more often. Piercing Strike allows the skill to deal more damage by ignoring a percentage of the enemy's defenses. Finally, Ice Pick is a straight damage boost for this skill.
Other Skills for your Sorceress Endgame Build
Squall is taken as a counter skill to help the party with raid mechanics. After successful counters, Squall can be used as a filler skill during downtimes until the next counter check. Since this is the only reason to take this skill, we don't have to invest into any skill points at lower levels. However, when you get extra skill points, taking at least the first tripod increases the utility of this skill. Quick Preparation lowers the cooldown of the skill, while Agile Cast increases it's casting speed. At higher levels, investing into the rest of the tripods can increase this skill's damage output.
If your party is struggling against part break mechanics, consider taking Inferno instead of Squall. Inferno in itself does decent part break, however this ability is boosted with the first tripod. Weak Point Enhancement increases the level of weak point provided by this skill, making it do even more part break than it's base. No other tripods are suggested here as this skill is only taken for part break mechanics, however if you have extra skill points, you can invest into at least Weak Point Detection to boost the damage dealt by this attack.
Doomsday is the Sorceress' hardest hitting skill, with the caveat that it has a long casting time and long skill animation. If running Igniter, you should be taking this skill. Be prepared to invest into all three tripods on Doomsday for maximum damage. Magick Control offsets the huge mana cost of the skill. If mana isn't an issue for you, Ignition adds a DoT to the skill, increasing it's overall damage. Asteroid is taken for the straight damage boost. It is taken over Overheated Meteor because mobile raid bosses can simply move out of the AoE, reducing the tripod's overall damage. The final tripod is dependent on which class engraving you pick. If running Igniter, take Magick Amplification as it greatly increases the skill's damage while Arcane Rupture is active. Otherwise if running Reflux, take Final Blow as you won't have access to this identity skill.
Explosion is another hard hitting skill that has long casting times and a high mana cost. When running Igniter, you should heavily consider taking this skill. All three tripods are required to maximize the damage dealt by this skill and are quite similar to those you can choose for Doomsday. Mind Enhancement should be taken if you're having mana issues, and if not, Ignite gives the skill a DoT, increasing overall damage. Weak Point Detection provides the highest damage boost to this skill from the choices in the second tripod slot. Finally, Magick Amplification boosts this skill's damage greatly when Arcane Rupture is active, and thus should only be run when having Igniter equipped. If running Reflux, run Final Strike for that juicy crit damage boost.
Similar to Frost's Call, Esoteric Reaction deals good damage from range. It is recommended to have all three tripods invested in. Quick Preparation lowers the cooldown of the skill, allowing it to be used more often. The choice for the next tripod depends on how much crit you've built on your accessories and engravings. If you can crit with this skill consistently, Final Strike provides a good crit damage buff. Otherwise, Enhanced Strike is a straight damage boost. Finally, though Stabilized Crystal reduces the AoE of the skill, it instantly casts crystal at level 3 and provides a damage boost.
Seraphic Hail is a good damage dealer and is optimal to use close to the boss. In Reflux builds, this can be taken over one of the casting skills required in Igniter builds if you're looking for a quick-paced and fluid playstyle. All three tripods should be invested in to maximize damage. If running Igniter, run Enlightenment for the increase identity gauge generation, otherwise, run Quick Preparation to have the skill off cooldown more often. Additional Explosion is taken over Evolved Hail for the next tripod since the skill travels too far to be able to capitalize on the full duration of the skill if taking Evolved Hail. Finally, Weak Point Detection is a huge damage boost to push-immune enemies i.e. raid bosses.
Reverse Gravity is another good damage dealer optimal to use close to the boss. In Reflux builds, this can be taken over one of the casting skills required in Igniter builds if you're looking for a quick-paced and fluid playstyle. If taking this skill, be ready to invest into all three tripods to increase it's damage output. Wide-Angle Attack increases the AoE radius of this skill, allowing you cast it from farther while still hitting the boss. Lava Area is taken over Electric Attack Area as the final lightning assault provided by Electric Attack Area is too random to be able to capitalize off of the skill's full number of hits. Finally, Weak Point Detection is a huge damage boost to raid bosses.
One of two Awakening Skills that Sorceress' can choose from. In raid scenarios, Enviska's Might is often taken over Apocalypse Call as it's damage is more consistent to hit. This awakening skill can be used to deal massive amounts of damage to enemies.
One of two Awakening Skills that Sorceress' can choose from. While technically, hitting all the meteors spawned from this skill deals higher damage than Enviska's Might, the shots are way too spread apart for them to hit consistently, and thus this skill is not taken as often as it's counterpart.
