The Plague's Source is a Main Quest in Lost Ark. The Plague's Source is part of the main story of Lost Ark and it is necessary to complete it in order to complete the game. However, it is recommended to complete some non Main Quests of your choice to gain additional equipment and level up in order to make Main Quests easier by being better equipped and prepared. Completing Main Quests will eventually lead you to unlock new features of the game and gain a full experience of it. 

Be careful not to catch the plague.

Lost Ark: The Plague's Source Information & Walkthrough

You start off on this quest by speaking to Armen. He asks that if you could help in defending the outpost against the infected attackers while he tends to the soldiers in the area. Now you'll have to defeat five infected creatures near the Border Watch.

Once you've defeated all the infected creatures, return to Armen. Inform him about the current situation, he then tells you that Bolts have been attacking the closed border post and it's highly possible that they've been exposed to the plague. He once again asks for your help in checking out the closed border post and help the guards there.

 Now head over to the Closed Border Post, open your map and you'll see where it is located. Once you've reached the area, speak to Border Guard Vant. He tells you that they're under attack by pagued creatures, he says that he's supposed to support the command post but he can't get to it because of these infected creatures. He asks for your help in clearing them out as you make your way to check the situation on the command post.

After your conversation with Border Guard Vant, the quest is complete. You'll automatically obtain the next main quest A Command Post in Need.
